PSA: Bus Transportation Announcement
Deming Public Schools Transportation Department is pleased to announce that Bus #23 and Bus #15 bus routes are operational starting this afternoon, Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
The Transportation Department continues to work closely to utilize drivers and buses efficiently and we apologize for any inconvenience created from the shut downs for our students and families. We are currently looking to hire more bus drivers, substitute bus drivers, and bus assistants. If you or anyone you know is interested, please reach out to the transportation office at (575) 543-1009 or TransportationDept@demingps.org.
Attention: Parents and Guardians of Bus Riders
The Deming Public Schools Transportation Department’s goal is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to ALL Deming Public Schools students. Please support this goal by having your student(s) ready to board the bus in a timely manner. All students must be on time at their assigned bus stop. The bus driver will not wait for students unprepared to immediately load. FACT: 90% of all School Bus related fatalities occur while loading or unloading the bus.
In order to ensure students safety and that your student(s) do not miss the bus, the department’s requirement is to have your student(s)**prepared to board the bus 10 to 15 minutes earlier then the estimated time of arrival. Tardiness to the bus stop, causes delays in the route, and may result in a misconduct report being issued to tardy students.
The department would also like to remind parents and guardians to please be **waiting at your student(s) bus stop in the afternoon before the buses estimated time of arrival. When parents are not at their student(s) bus stop on time it causes delays in the route, that result in other stops being made late as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Transportation Department at (575) 543-1009 or TransportationDept@demingps.org. Your cooperation and understanding of this matter is greatly appreciated.
